Lenzie travelled to Annan on February 21 for a must-win game in the battle against relegation.
They got the perfect start when, from kick-off, Moir took the ball offloaded to D. Condie who took the ball on to halfway and from the ruck stand-off Kennedy received the ball placing a kick down the touch line which was picked up by winger Nisbet who scored an unconverted try. Lenzie kept this level of pressure up throughout the first half and were rewarded with a second try. After good play by the pack the ball found its way to scrumhalf Byers who scored, converted by Kennedy. The only other score in the first half was a penalty converted by Kennedy after an infringement by Annan at the base of the ruck. The second half was a very scrappy affair with Annan enjoying the majority of possession but failing to capitalise significantly as a result. With only a couple of minutes remaining Annan scored what was a consolation try after Lenzie gave away a penalty close to the line. A great win for Lenzie with good performances by Gareth Williams and David Foster at centre and the forward pack. Lenzie: Letford, M. Williams, D.
